A successful substitute lesson: On The Farm

One of my published substitute lessons, "On the Farm," was used in my class!

I left my copy of "The Art Teacher's Substitute Notebook: K-2 Lessons" and "The Basics" on my classroom desk.  I had an emergency sick day and the sub effortlessly taught my kindergartners.  I came back to find some beautiful projects!  I had the kids finish them up with me.  They did a terrific job!  Except that the sub couldn't find my 80lb white drawing paper... and chose orange.... which I think was odd.  If she had read "The Basics" a little more carefully, she would have known where the paper was.  Oh well!  They look great.
